1. Purpose
This policy explains how MealMe Sàrl, operating the brand Fermenterie BIONIC®, collects, uses, keeps, protects and shares the personal data processed in connection with the fermenterie-bionic.ch website.
It applies in particular to browsing, online orders, payments, deliveries, contact requests, professional B2B requests, the newsletter, any customer accounts and exchanges with customer service.
MealMe Sàrl processes personal data in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the other applicable rules.

3. Personal data processed
Depending on your use of the website, BIONIC may process the following categories.
3.1 Identification data: surname, first name, company and role where applicable, email address, phone number where applicable.
3.2 Order and delivery data: billing address, delivery address, order number, products ordered, amount, date and status of the order, information needed for preparation, dispatch and tracking, exchanges relating to customer service, complaints or deliveries.
3.3 Payment data. Payments are processed by specialised providers, in particular Stripe. BIONIC does not store complete bank card data on its own servers. BIONIC may receive and keep limited information (payment status, amount, currency, transaction identifier, payment method, information needed for accounting).
3.4 Customer account data (if an account is offered): creation information, associated email address, order history, delivery or contact preferences, technical information related to account security. The customer is responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials.
3.5 Contact data: name, email address, phone number, subject of the request, order number where applicable, content of the message and items voluntarily transmitted.
3.6 Professional B2B data: contact's surname and first name, company, professional email, phone, town or region, type of business, needs (distribution, restaurants, resale, events, bespoke production), information needed to draw up a quote, an offer, a contract or commercial follow-up.
3.7 Newsletter: email address, sign-up date, proof of consent and, where applicable, technical information needed for sending and unsubscribing.
3.8 Technical data processed automatically during browsing: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, date and time, language preferences, session data, basket data, cookie choices, technical logs needed for the security and proper functioning of the website.
4. Purposes of processing
BIONIC processes personal data to:
- enable browsing and manage the basket and session;
- receive and process orders;
- prepare, pack and ship the products;
- handle payments;
- issue invoices and accounting documents;
- manage customer service and handle complaints, defects or delivery problems;
- respond to contact requests;
- process professional requests and draw up B2B quotes or offers;
- manage subscriptions or recurring offers;
- send the newsletter with consent;
- improve the website, content and experience;
- measure audience where tools are used in accordance with cookie choices;
- secure the website and prevent fraud;
- comply with legal, accounting, tax and regulatory obligations;
- defend BIONIC's rights in the event of a dispute.
5. Bases of processing
Depending on the case, the processing relies on:
- the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (orders, payments, deliveries, customer accounts, B2B requests, customer service);
- consent (newsletter, certain non-essential cookies);
- BIONIC's legitimate interests (security, service improvement, fraud prevention, complaint management, customer relationship);
- legal obligations (accounting, tax, commercial, food-related or regulatory).
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The website uses cookies and similar technologies strictly necessary for its operation: maintaining the session, managing the basket, remembering the language and cookie preferences, browsing security and the smooth running of the ordering process.
BIONIC may also use audience measurement or traffic analysis tools. These non-strictly-necessary tools are only activated in accordance with the cookie banner settings and the choices expressed by the user.
You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies via the cookie banner or the settings offered. Refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent normal use of the website; however, blocking certain strictly necessary cookies may affect the basket, the payment or the order.
7. Recipients and providers
BIONIC does not sell personal data. Data may be shared only where necessary, in particular with:
- payment providers, in particular Stripe;
- delivery providers, in particular Swiss Post or any carrier used;
- hosting and infrastructure providers, in particular Vercel;
- technical providers necessary for the operation of the website;
- emailing or newsletter providers, where applicable;
- maintenance, security or IT support providers;
- trustees, accountants, legal advisers or authorities where necessary;
- logistics or commercial partners in connection with professional orders, where necessary.
These providers process the data only to the extent necessary for their services or in accordance with their own legal obligations.
8. Payments via Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe or by the providers shown during the ordering process. During payment, certain necessary data is transmitted to the provider (amount, currency, transaction information, card or payment-method data, billing address, fraud-prevention information).
BIONIC does not store complete bank card data on its own servers. Processing by Stripe is also subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy.
9. Delivery
To enable delivery, BIONIC transmits the necessary information to the carrier: name, delivery address, useful contact details, order number and logistical information. This data is used to prepare, ship, track and deliver the order.
10. Newsletter
The newsletter is sent only to people who have consented or in the other cases permitted by law. It may contain information about products, recipes, new arrivals, editorial content, offers or BIONIC news.
You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link or by writing to contact@fermenterie-bionic.ch. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
11. Contact forms and B2B requests
The data transmitted via the forms is used only to handle the request, respond to it, draw up an offer, prepare a collaboration or ensure the necessary follow-up.
Some forms may include a technical anti-spam field (for example a “Website” field not to be filled in), intended to protect the site against automated submissions.
12. Social media and external links
The website may contain links to social media, in particular Instagram, or to external services. By clicking on an external link, you leave the environment controlled by BIONIC; the processing carried out by these platforms is governed by their own privacy policies. BIONIC is not responsible for processing carried out by independent third parties.
13. Transfers of data abroad
Certain providers may process or store data in Switzerland, in the European Union, in the United States or in other countries.
Where data is transferred abroad, BIONIC ensures that the transfer relies on a basis compliant with Swiss data protection law: adequacy decision, appropriate contractual guarantees, standard contractual clauses, consent where necessary, or another exception provided for by law.
Third countries may not offer the same level of protection as Switzerland. BIONIC takes appropriate measures to protect the data to the extent required by the applicable law.
14. Retention period
BIONIC keeps data only for as long as necessary for the purposes of the processing or as required by legal obligations. As a guide:
- order, billing and accounting data: in principle 10 years;
- complete bank card data: not kept by BIONIC;
- limited transaction data: according to accounting and tax obligations;
- customer account data: as long as the account exists, then deletion or archiving according to the applicable obligations;
- contact requests: the time needed for handling and follow-up;
- B2B data: the duration of the commercial relationship or reasonable prospecting;
- newsletter data: until unsubscription, then retention of minimal proof of unsubscription in order to respect the choice expressed;
- technical logs and security data: limited duration, except in the event of an incident, fraud or legal obligation;
- cookies: according to their purpose and the banner settings.
When the data is no longer necessary, it is deleted, anonymised or archived appropriately.
15. Security
BIONIC implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, disclosure or misuse, in particular: HTTPS encryption, restricted access, use of specialised providers for payments, security measures on hosting, limitation of internal access, anti-spam and anti-fraud measures, reasonable monitoring of technical operation.
No IT system can, however, guarantee absolute security.
16. Personal data security breach
In the event of a breach of the security of personal data, BIONIC assesses the nature of the incident, the data and people concerned, the possible consequences and the measures to be taken.
Where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to the personality or fundamental rights of the people concerned, BIONIC notifies the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in accordance with art. 24 FADP. Where necessary to protect the people concerned or where the law requires it, BIONIC also informs them.
17. Automated individual decisions and profiling
BIONIC does not make automated individual decisions producing legal effects or significant consequences, and does not carry out high-risk profiling.
Technical tools may nonetheless be used for security, fraud prevention, basket management, aggregated audience measurement or service improvement.
18. Data of minors
The website is mainly aimed at people able to validly conclude a contract. Minors must not place an order without the agreement of their legal representative. BIONIC does not seek to knowingly collect personal data of children.
19. Your rights
In accordance with the applicable law, you have in particular the following rights:
- access your personal data;
- request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request the deletion of your data where the legal conditions are met;
- request the restriction of, or object to, certain processing where the legal conditions are met;

These rights may be limited where BIONIC must keep certain data to comply with legal obligations, defend its rights, ensure security, prevent fraud or perform a contract.

20. Complaint to the authority
If you consider that the processing of your data does not comply with the applicable law, you can first contact BIONIC at contact@fermenterie-bionic.ch to seek a solution. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), the competent Swiss authority.
21. Update of the Privacy policy
BIONIC may amend this policy at any time, in particular in the event of changes to the website, providers, tools, legal obligations or internal practices. The applicable version is the one published on the website at the time of consultation.
